Responsibilities Topic

The Responsibilities topic lists all the persons and/or organizations that are assigned as having some responsibility for an object. It also lets you assign a responsibility.

You can assign responsibilities for:

documents
physical items
serialized items
virtual item groups
virtual items

For example, you might open a document, expand the Responsibilities, and assign a person a particular responsibility for that document (such as "Author"). Later, as you are viewing the person's Document Responsibilities topic, you will see that document listed.

Note: Before you can assign a responsibility to person or organization, the administrator needs to define responsibility types. This is done in the System Admin tab under Maintain List Values > Responsibility Type.
